At MaxFit Gym, we’ve noticed that while many people start their fitness journey with enthusiasm, motivation can fade over time. We often ask during our no-sweat intros, “Why do you need us? Why can’t you do this on your own?” Without fail, the answer is almost always the same: people need accountability. Whether it’s showing up, doing the hard work, or sticking to their goals, accountability plays a key role in long-term success.
That’s where we come in. At MaxFit, accountability is built into everything we do, and we’ve designed a multi-faceted approach to make sure you get the support you need every step of the way. Here’s how we do it:
1. Booking Sessions in Advance
Planning ahead is a small but powerful step. To make sure you’re set up for success, we encourage all members to book their sessions for the week in advance. If you haven’t, our friendly administrator Jasmin will send you a gentle reminder via call or text. It’s a simple nudge, but it can make the difference between hitting your goals or losing momentum.
2. Following Up on No-Shows
Life happens, and sometimes you miss a session. If you haven’t shown up, you’ll hear from our Customer Services Manager, Amy, who’ll check in with you to find out why. It’s not about making you feel bad – it’s about keeping you on track. These little follow-ups help prevent members from falling off the bandwagon and losing the progress they’ve worked so hard to achieve.
3. Weekly Progress Tracking
For members with body composition goals, we encourage you to track your progress with regular weigh-ins and measurements at the end of your session. It’s an easy way to stay focused on your goals and see how far you’ve come week by week. Accountability here isn’t about perfection – it’s about consistency, and these small check-ins are vital for long-term success.
4. Launch Session and 90-Day Goal Review
Every new member starts with a Launch Session, where we gather all your baseline stats – from body composition to strength measurements. These stats are crucial for tracking your progress. After your first 90 days, we dive into your 90-day goal review session. During this session, we assess your progress across several areas, including physical changes, strength improvements, and habit-building. We also use this time to set new goals and create a clear action plan for the next 90 days, ensuring you stay on track to reach your long-term fitness goals.
5. Periodic Challenges
At MaxFit, we love running challenges to keep everyone engaged. Right now, we’re preparing for a 5km and 10km charity run for Action Cancer. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just getting started, we’ve got you covered with tailored training programs to suit your fitness level. But it’s not just about running – earlier this year, we ran a wholefood nutrition challenge, a hydration challenge, and even a step-count challenge. These challenges provide an added layer of accountability, keeping everyone motivated and focused on adopting healthy habits that align with their goals. We often form temporary WhatsApp groups to share inspiration and tips, and there’s always the chance to win prizes or face a fun forfeit if you’re slacking!
6. Bright Spot Fridays
In our private Facebook group, we celebrate Bright Spot Fridays. It’s easy to get caught up in the gap between where you are and where you want to be, but Bright Spot Fridays encourage us to focus on the wins – however small – that we’ve achieved throughout the week. From personal bests in the gym to better sleep or improved energy, recognising these wins keeps our community positive, motivated, and accountable to their goals. It’s not just about celebrating your own progress, but seeing others’ success, which helps build an inspiring and supportive community.
Real Client Success
Our accountability approach has made a real difference for clients like Siobhan and Kerry, who have shared their incredible journeys with us. Siobhan has toned up, increased her strength, and built healthier habits that she now maintains with ease. Meanwhile, Kerry has smashed her fitness goals, completed her 25th Parkrun, and even inspired her teenage daughter to join the gym.
