At MaxFit, we take pride in fostering a supportive and inclusive fitness environment for everyone. Whether you’re taking your first step into the gym or you’re an experienced athlete, we’ve built a space that caters to all. Here’s how we do it.
A Multi-Faceted Fitness Coaching Approach
Our coaching service is designed to meet each client’s unique needs. We have an in-house Nutritionist, Lee, who helps clients make meaningful changes to their diet that align with their goals. Whether it’s improving energy, building strength, or achieving weight loss, our nutrition service ensures no one is left without guidance.
We also have systems in place to ensure accountability. Clients who haven’t booked in on our app are contacted weekly, and if they’ve booked but didn’t show up, we check in to see how we can help them stay on track. We provide weekly weigh-ins and quarterly goal review sessions to help clients celebrate their progress and stay motivated.
Recognising Fitness Wins, Big and Small
At MaxFit, we focus on recognising and celebrating the small wins. This approach helps clients feel accomplished without being overwhelmed by the gap between where they are now and where they want to go.
Our Personal Best Board is updated weekly to celebrate new milestones.
Bright Spot Fridays on our private Facebook members group let everyone reflect on and share their weekly wins.
We celebrate attendance milestones, such as 50, 100, or 250 sessions, to acknowledge dedication over time.
These small acknowledgements play a big role in building confidence and sustaining motivation.
Building a Thriving Fitness Community
We believe that a strong sense of community can transform the gym experience. Here’s how we bring people together:
An annual social calendar filled with events like Parkruns, charity relay runs, hikes, and Christmas drinks. These events strengthen bonds and make fitness more fun.
Year-round health and well-being challenges focusing on steps, hydration, mental health, and nutrition. These are simple, inclusive, and designed to help everyone build new habits.
Our gym community is diverse in every way. We train kids as young as six through our youth programmes, and our Over 55s Club supports members well into their 70s and 80s. Glengormley’s interface community is reflected in our balanced mix of ages, religions, races, and genders. Members often comment on how inclusive and welcoming the vibe is—a testament to what we’ve built.
Easing You In with Our On-Ramp Programme
Starting at a gym can be daunting, but our On-Ramp Programme is designed to ease that transition. This tailored programme helps new members build confidence and competence with movement in a smaller, more comfortable setting before they progress to larger group classes. By the time clients join group sessions, they’re ready and able to keep up, making the experience enjoyable rather than intimidating.
A Personal Touch
When you walk through our doors, you’ll notice one thing right away: you’re not just a number at MaxFit. Our staff makes an effort to know your name, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere you won’t find at larger commercial gyms. Members constantly comment on the independent, family-run vibe, and it’s something we’re proud to uphold every day.
